Item history
Blayney Railway Station had the reputation of being one of the coldest railway stations in NSW. It was the "Change Trains" point for anyone travelling from Sydney to Cowra, Harden and the South West of the State. The train timetables didn't correlate too well and passengers had to wait for hours in the middle of the night for the connecting train. With temperatures well below freezing in the winter months the roaring coal fire in the waiting room was always a popular spot, and a hot cup of tea and a pie from the refreshment room made the wait a little more pleasant.
